WHY DO YOU NEED SELF-CARE?
To put it simply, you can’t give what you don’t have.
When you don’t find the time to take care of yourself, it is even harder to take care of others without feeling continuously stressed out. Motherhood, and the journey to get there, naturally involves many self-sacrifices, putting others first, and it is easy to forget about yourself. Self-care basically means you will have to put yourself first, and while it’s no easy task, you need to understand that it’s ok to take a break from time to time. We give so much, that now and then we need to take out the time for ourselves. When we do this, we feel our best and more replenished to do even better.
To be able to actually practice self-care, you need to plan for it. Decide to find time within your busy schedule to focus on you. You’ll need to decide when, how often, and how long you want to take out time for your self-care. This guide is designed as your start-up week, to get you used to scheduling and taking this time for yourself. Once you have started, it will be easier to keep going!

WHAT’S IN THE GUIDE?
In this guide we outline different types of self-care and ideas for each. Self-care comes in many forms, it can be physical and emotional. We take the guesswork out of “what do I do?” so you can just focus on the doing. Most the self-care suggestions are designed to take 30 minutes to 2 hours of your time, but if you have the resources, and wan’t to make it a whole day, you can do that too! Choose the option that sounds best for you, works for your busy schedule, your budget, and your lifestyle.
